Dolcelatte Cheese, Soft, creamy Italian blue cheese
Dolcelatte Cheese, Soft, creamy Italian blue cheese
Meaning "sweet milk", Dolcelatte cheese is an extremely creamy, mild and slightly sweet Italian cheese, made as a milder and vegetarian version of Gorgonzola, it's delicious with figs, grapes and of course red wine. Spreadable on a cracker, Dolcelatte is great if you're not into a super strong blue but still like a nice bit of flavour.
Dolcelatte is made by the Galbani Company, invented as an export predominantly to the British market in the 1960's. Matured for only 2 to 3 months to keep it's gentle nature, it works really well in cooking too if you want a more subtle blue cheese in your sauce.
Please note, a whole is not a round, they come in a quarter circle shape.
